Maple Country Chapter NWTF
Geauga County, Ohio

Welcome to the Maple Country Chapter NWTF web site. We have established this website to better serve our members. It will help to inform you of our upcoming events, programs and important dates, as well as photos of events and our members. We hope that this site will assist in our communication with all members as we strive to develop the chapter to meet the expectations of our constituents. Please feel free to contact us with any comments on this page or events.
We would also like to thank all those, past and present, who have helped in the development of this chapter. It is only through the hard work of its volunteers that the chapter and its events are possible. Anyone interested in becoming a more active part of this growing chapter should contact us at any of the contacts listed. As the chapter evolves to become more focused in the local community, we need a strong volunteer base to better fulfill our goals. Our main mission is to offer interactive programs to the youth in the area. With the continued support of our members we will continue to grow and improve these activities to provide education, safety training and all around good woodsmanship practices.
Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at our next event.

Maple Country Chapter/ JCU ROTC Plant Trees with Geauga Parks
In April, the Maple Country Chapter ordered in two dozen Oak tree seedlings as part of our replanting/habitat improvement program. We then contacted John Oros with the Geagua Park district. With John, and then Bob Lange we were able to establish a planting area at the Burton Wetlands area to begin reforestation improvements to some scrub land. The event was such a success, we agreed to assist in the planting of an additional 200 seedlings the following month in an area near the bike path in Clairdon township. This event required a little more muscle, so we were able to partner with the Lt Col Eric Patterson and the John Carrol Univ. ROTC class for the additional required labor. Thanks to all who helped. We are planning on making this an annual event, so if you are interested in helping out, please contact us from our contacts page.
